If you’ve been caught in a mental or emotional spiral — questioning everything, resisting everything, and trying so hard to get it all right — you are so not alone. I was deep in it for several days. One emotion after another. One trigger after another. One frantic attempt to figure it all out… after another.
Nothing was offering relief at first. But as the spiral began to pass, clarity came rushing in — along with a deep exhale and a few grounded reminders I want to share with you.
This blog is for the moments you feel stuck, lost, or like your emotions are too much. May it be a soft place to land.
I shared the full experience in the episode, but here’s the short version: everything that could spiral, did. I was overwhelmed by emotions, stuck in overthinking, and even the laundry was failing me (I literally dragged a soaking wet blanket into the driveway and left it there. That was the turning point.)
Sometimes clarity doesn’t come from figuring out the “right” thing to do. It comes from laughing at the chaos, letting yourself break down, and feeling your way through.
Here’s what helped me move through it — not by solving everything, but by softening into the moment and letting the spiral pass.
Even when it feels like everything is wrong. Even when your emotions are loud and messy and overwhelming. You are not broken. This spiral doesn’t mean you’re off track — it often means you’re on the verge of a breakthrough. Sometimes the mind throws a tantrum right before it’s about to let go of something big.
You don’t have a hundred problems. You have one spiral. One bundle of energy that wants to move through you. The mind thinks it has to fix everything right now — but what if there’s nothing to fix? What if it’s just a feeling that needs space to be felt?
When the emotion passes, clarity always comes.
Even when you’re doing “all the right things” — breathing, feeling, being present — the feeling might still not budge. That’s okay. There’s no perfect way through. Sometimes the mind holds on until it can’t anymore. That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It just means you’re human.
Can you be gentle with yourself in the meantime?
Even if you spiraled all day. Even if you made it worse. Even if your energy feels messy or unclear. You can always return to center from here. What does the moment need right now? What’s the next most supportive thing — not the perfect one, just the next?
This is your now. Start here.
You don’t have to decide from confusion. You don’t have to act from anxiety. One of the hardest parts of a spiral is the pressure to figure things out — especially when it feels like people are waiting on you.
But waiting for clarity isn’t inaction. It’s wisdom. You’re allowed to not know yet. I had to wait on a decision about an upcoming trip, even though everything in me wanted to just decide and be done. But the more I let the emotion pass first, the clearer the answer became. And when it did, there was no more questioning.
This is too big of a job for the mind. And it was never meant to carry it all.
A gardener doesn’t obsess over weeds.
They enjoy the garden. They plant. They water. They receive.
They pull weeds when needed—but it’s not their full-time job.
Clarity doesn’t come from analyzing life. It comes from living it. From allowing what is. From trusting yourself to meet the moment, not fix it.
If you're in it now, try this:
Intuition, please help me let this spiral pass. Let this move through me. Show me. Guide me. Make it easy and obvious what to do.
Hand it over to your intuition. Let go of the pressure to figure it out. Your clarity is coming.
